Celebrating Music Excellence in the Durham Region





COMPANY OVERVIEW

Oshawa Music Awards (OMA) is an annual event that recognizes the influence and achievements of local music creators, businesses, and music supporters within the City of Oshawa, the Durham region, and Canada. OMA was established in 2017 by Durham College students from the Music Business Management (MBM) program.  Oshawa Music Awards 2020 will be held Saturday, April 4 at The Music Hall in Oshawa.



MISSION STATEMENT

To celebrate the development of local music talent and culture within the Durham Region. Oshawa Music Awards aims to acknowledge key contributors that aid in the growth of Durham Region’s music business economy; providing a platform that highlights and nurtures its progression.

STEERING COMMITTEE

The OMA Steering Committee helps to guide Oshawa Music Awards 2020 through from start to completion, including business and award-related topics. It is made up of representatives of key organizations who are partners in the project, and/or who have expertise to lend to the project, and/or whose clients are the intended users of the output of the project.



NOMINATION AND VOTING COMMITTEE

The OMA Nominating and Voting Committee helps in proposing and reviewing OMA award submissions, nominations, and Hall of Fame winners, as well as, ensuring the award rules and regulations are in fairness, inclusive, and up-to-date.


The committee consists of local music industry professionals in Oshawa and the Durham Region who have expertise, knowledge, and experience to the development of Oshawa and the Durham Region music scene over the past years.
