April 26, 2020 - On Saturday, April 25 the Oshawa Music Awards (OMA) 2020 hosted a special online celebration to recognize key contributors to the Durham Region Music Industry through the Lifetime Achievement - Hall of Fame Award. The live celebration was the fourth of an on-going online series of weekly award show segments hosted by Sandy Horne, Spoons Musician in place of the annual live event.

Bill and David of Willson of Wilson and Lee Music, the late Mogens Galberg and wife Cathy Galberg of Greenbank Folk Music Society, the late Mike Kupnicki of Alto Music and Bob Bryden, Linda-Squires Davies, Dave Hare, Rich Richter, John Pudlis, Russ Erman, Robert Bulger and all the remaining members of Reign Ghost, Christmas, and Spirit of Christmas were the 2020 inductees of the Lifetime Achievement – Hall of Fame award celebrated on Saturday night.

The awards were presented by special guests Greg Murphy, Dean, Durham College School of Media Art & Design (M.A.D), Carol Beam, Durham College, Associate Vice President of Communications and Marketing and Adam Hare, President of Petley-Hare Insurance.

Each recipient of the award was celebrated through a special video tribute highlighting the individual accomplishment of each the recipient. Special tribute performances given by musicians Annie Sumi and Valdii. Among the recipients, daughters of the late Mike Kupnicki, Sonia McMillan and Dianne Clements accepted the award on their father’s behalf.

“We appreciate the hard work and thoughtfulness of the OMA Team and Durham College in these difficult times. Thank you for the amazing recognition of [Mike’s] contributions to the Durham Music Industry,” Sonia McMillan speaking on behalf of her father.
